Getting ready for baby
Well, it's been more than a month since I last checked in. In that time I went from my second trimester into the beginning of my third. As I waited for my photos to load I sat here and watched the little one do somersaults in my belly. Very strange, I'm frequently reminded of that scene in Aliens where the guy has an alien leap out of his stomach at the diner. Not scary like that, but there is something in there and it is quite obvious. I'm very thankful that it is a human baby. Took my glucose tolerance test two weeks ago and passed, my glucose levels were within the norm. However, they also checked my hemoglobin and it was slightly low. Nothing abnormal due to the increased blood volume in my body, but low enough that my midwife suggest I take liquid iron once a day for the next week or so. This should increase my energy level, and, seeing as I will be traveling starting Monday, more energy is a good thing.
I have also done some baby knitting, amongst my other various projects that I'm trying to finish. Behold the Ribbon Hat:
I have also done some baby knitting, amongst my other various projects that I'm trying to finish. Behold the Ribbon Hat:
Pattern from Itty Bitty Hats, yarn is RK Cashsoft DK in a light purple color, knit on size 8 needles (slightly larger than recommended but I did swatch and it worked out fine, it is a hat after all...). Yarn from JoAnn's. The little one better be a girl or I will be giving this lovely hat away.
We will be painting the walls a nice cheery green, photo to come when finished. I am excited about the new paint. Woohoo!!
