Waiting for the Stork
Today's the day that our little one is supposed to arrive. So, I've been walking and waiting and knitting and waiting and enjoying the sunshine. The sunny weather really helps with the walking part. Walking is supposed to help get the little one move down. Well, she's moving alright. I'm just not so sure she's moving down. I say she cause I feel like it, but our little one could still be a he. Here's a picture of my pregnant belly today.
It may not look that impressive, but our little tike is looking at weighing over 7 lbs, close to 8 next week, if she doesn't arrive by then. In the meantime I've been working on a little sweater for our babe. Here's the body and sleeves blocking last week.
My progress as of today. It's got a collar and the button band with a few buttons. I've even weaved in a few ends. Now all she needs is the buttonhole band and a crocheted edge. Well, and the sleeves need to be attached. It'll be a beauty.
Here's a close-up of one of the buttons that is getting sewn on. The pattern is from Dale of Norway. A little booklet I got in Cordova at the Net Loft. Highly recommend going there. I got all kinds of goodies. Speaking of goodies, here's a picture in honor of my Grandpa. I took it after my dear hubby and I went blueberry picking about a month ago. Feast your eyes on these. They would make a feast for the table as well, but we didn't want to spoil the stump.
The above fungus is the very tasty chicken of the woods, or sulfur shelf. It really does make a nice addition to the dinner table. Well, back I go to waiting. Hopefully you all will hear some more news soon.
